Greg LeBlanc began practicing Wing Chun (aka Ving Tsun) in 1997, training with Sifu Gary Lam (Lam Man Hog) from 1997-2005 (training with Sifu Lam 4-5 times per week). Sifu Lam is an early student of Sigung Wong Shun Leung and was also a competitive Muay Thai boxer. Wong Shun Leung was famous in his youth for bare-knuckle challenge fights (Beimo 比武), where he tested and proved the Kung Fu system taught to him by Sijo Yip Man. Wong Shun Leung in his day was known as King of the talking hands (Gong Sau Wong).
Sifu Lam granted Greg the title of Sifu in 2005, authorizing him in the complete GLWC system and granting him the right to certify his own students. Sifu LeBlanc has also had the honor to train with the late Sisok Gung Hawkins Cheung (direct Student of Yip Man), with Sisok John Smith (direct student of Wong Shun Leung), and with Sifu Dwight Hennings (direct student of Lawrence Leung Chee Sing). Most recently Greg had the privilege of training with Sifu John Di Virgilio. Sifu Di Virgilio is a master of Yip Man Wing Chun, the Tommy Yuen version of the Dragon Pole and the Tommy Yuen version of the Wing Chun parallel swords (in the lineages of Robert Yeung, Wong Long, Wong Chok and Yuen Yim Keung respectively). In May of 2024 Greg received Chief Instructor certification in BAHT CHAM DO (Parallel Swords). Greg is honored and grateful for the friendship and support of these great teachers. Sifu LeBlanc is proud to be an honorary lifetime member of the Illawarra School of Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun.
Sifu LeBlanc has trained in various martial arts starting at the age of 13, including Japanese Jujitsu (Kodenkan Danzan Ryu), Judo, Scholastic wrestling, Aikido (as Soto Deshi for 4 years, and Uchi Deshi for 2 years), Northern styles of Kung Fu (Long Fist, Praying Mantis and double edged sword) and Filipino Martial Arts (Kadena de Mano, Decuerdas and Sinawali).
In addition to his devotion to Wing Chun Kung Fu, Sifu LeBlanc holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM), is a Licensed California acupuncturist (L.Ac.), and is nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine (Diplomate NCCAOM).

“I had the pleasure this weekend to visit my Sifu Greg LeBlanc. Sifu LeBlanc shared in a Clinic/Seminar the teachings of the "Baat Jaam Do" or "Eight Chop Knives". Yip Man - Wong Shun Leung - Tommy Yuen - John Divirgilio -"Greg LeBlanc". *The way I look at it* The form is like a finger pointing, showing you what to look at or where to go. Like a boat used to get across a body of water. Like a legend or fable, packaged and used to convey information. All these different type of packaging and vehicles or fingers are used as a way of passing on information, from generation to generation through time. I would say the main importance is the actual ability to use what you have and know. The teachers who carry this information are to be treasured and respected. Some teachers may only hold the books, that they continue to pass on in hopes someone will finally know how to read. Other teachers may know how to read but don't have the books. Some say it is a rare occasion when you come across someone who as and can do both. A person with the intelligence and know-how, who understands, who can do and who can convey. Sifu LeBlanc is one such individual.”
